The emergency lighting that Glamox offers can be broadly divided into three different types of lighting:
• Emergency luminaires, luminaires including 24V or luminaires with built-in battery or emergency lamp
• Escape route marking (incl. EXIT signs)
• Escape route mark at the ground, known as low location lighting

Glamox offers various luminaires that ensure minimal lighting when the main power fails. There are various fixtures, including fluorescent fixtures, LED fixtures and LED downlights, which are available as emergency lighting. These can be roughly classified as follows:
• Central, with an additional connection option for 24VDC, for example B15 or E14 fitting;
• Decentralized, a built-in battery;
• Small LED luminaires that are intended exclusively as emergency lighting
The separate LED luminaires therefore light up based on the emergency network, instead of the normal lighting. An example of this stand-alone lighting with built-in battery are the types E85 and E20, which is available in a surface-mounted version and a built-in version.
Glamox has a range of luminaires for escape route marketing, also known as escape route lighting, including the well-known EXIT signs. In addition to conventional escape route marketing, there is LED escape route marking and there are variants for low ceilings as well as variants with which a self-test can be performed. Central monitoring is also possible on the basis of a DALI protocol. The escape route marking is in both IP20 version for indoor spaces and IP67 for outdoor spaces. There are both fixtures that are powered by 24VDC or 230VAC and fixtures with a built-in battery (a "battery backup"). There is a wide choice of texts and icons to use on all signs.
In addition to the normal escape route marking emergency lighting signs, Glamox also offers an electrical system for escape route marking that can be placed at floor level, which can act as signposting during calamities. The system is called Low Location Lighting (LLL or 3L).
A distinction is made between normal emergency lighting and this so-called Low Location Lighting. Normal emergency lighting is integrated into the ceiling, but experience has shown that it is ineffective in a smoky environment, such as that can occur in a fire. Under these circumstances, the installation of a Low Location Lighting system significantly improves the chance of a successful evacuation.
The guidelines of IMO Resolution A.752 (18) of 4 November 1993 and ISO 15370v2 describe the design, approval, installation and maintenance of such a Low Location lighting system. The Glamox Low Location Lighting system meets the requirements in the above-mentioned guidelines and is also MED certified.
The Glamox Low Location Lighting system is based on fixed profiles. In addition to illuminated lines, illuminated symbols can also be integrated into the profiles, such as signs that mark an exit or staircase. The Glamox Low Location Lighting System can also be set up dynamically, with the LED lamps showing a direction of movement that points to the nearest exit. In that case the 3L system is often linked to a central alarm system or fire alarm system, whereby the optimum escape route is dynamically adjusted to the spread of the fire on board.
