Gas detectors
Consilium basically offers two types of gas detection systems: sampling systems and point detection systems. Gas detection is often combined with a fire alarm system. In some cases, a separate gas detection system is required. Gas detection occurs on board oil tankers, offshore vessels, specialized vessels and LNG-powered vessels, among other things.
Consilium already started gas detection in 1959, with the introduction of the first Salwico gas detector. Consilium has developed over the past decades, partly through the acquisition of specialized companies, into a worldwide specialist in maritime gas detection systems.

The CGD50 / 500 detection system based on fixed-point measurement is user-friendly, safe, redundant and flexible. CGD50 / 500 is built on the same flexible and modular platform as the CCP fire detection system from Consilium.
The use of the same platform for the gas detection system offers many advantages. For example, the total lifetime costs of the system are considerably reduced, because maintenance and service can be carried out by the same maintenance engineer. The same spare parts can thus also be used for different systems. Operating both systems also has many similarities and is based on the same human machine interface (HMI).

Gas sampling system Consilium
The CGS50 / 500 is intended for the detection of explosive and toxic gases in pump rooms, pipe tunnels, ballast tanks, flushing tanks and other spaces.
CGS50 / 500 is a scanning (sequential) sampling system. The detectors are placed centrally with pipes that lead to all places where gas detection is required. The pipes process the air present and measure the gases present therein and their concentration. The unique design offers the possibility to connect up to four pieces of 4-20mA gas detectors in one system.
