Fuel Consumption and Performance Monitoring
With fuel being the main consumable on board any vessel, while also being the greatest variable in the operation, it is the best place to obtain savings in operating expenses (OPEX).
Last week during the 30th edition of SMM Hamburg, Insatech hosted a presentation on this subject, attracting various interested ship owners and operators. On Wednesday September 7th, we attended this presentation enabled by our Danish supplier Insatech, a specialist in high class instrumentation and performance monitoring solutions. The performance monitoring is based on the accurate measurements of the offered instruments, which can be installed onboard both on new builds and sailing vessels, regardless of where these vessels are; even installation during a voyage is possible.
The presentation of September 7th zoomed in on the advanced Voyage Optimisation software offered by fast growing Nautilus Labs, a US scale up that has quickly gained attention from experiences shipowners such as SMT Shipping, Total Energies and Emirates Shipping Line.
