One of the most important wishes when replacing the Princess Amalia Bridge and Kogerpolder Bridge was to minimize maintenance. In addition, both bridges had to be built at the same location as the existing bridges. Minimizing nuisance and limiting and shortening construction activities on site as much as possible was also a determining factor for the design of the bridges.
The round RGP cable entries from MCT Brattberg also contribute to minimizing maintenance. If no adjustments are made, it is no longer necessary to look back for at least 25 years. The RGP penetrations are airtight and watertight up to a constant pressure of 1.8 bar.
