As with all areas on board a ship, the open deck places special demands on installed equipment whether the area is for work, embarkation, rescue or winching. In addition, the visibility of the ship itself and its surroundings must also be taken into account. The required lighting solution must work in all weather conditions. A good lighting solution primarily provides a safe working environment for the crew.
The innovative LED outdoor lighting fixtures can be used for a wide range of different spaces, e.g. workshops, passageways etc. They are designed to meet marine requirements and to save energy and maintenance costs thanks to their extremely long service life. The combination of material and design ensures excellent heat control and therefore a long life.

TL50
The innovative TL50 and TL60 LED outdoor lighting fixtures are applicable for a wide range of different spaces, e.g. workshops, shops, car decks, passageways, etc. They are designed to meet marine requirements and to save energy and maintenance costs thanks to their extremely long service life. TL50 is the basic fixture to replace fluorescent fixtures, with a very good price/quality ratio. The TL60 is similar in many ways to the TL50, but has a wider range of special variants available, such as a 110VAC version or versions suitable for extra-low ambient temperatures.
Operating temperature from -25ºC to +45ºC in standard version.
In addition to a regular 230VAC variant, a 24V version of the TL50 LED fixtures is also available. The 24V version has a light output of 800 lumens and is heat resistant up to 105ºC.
Battery backup versions of the TL50 and TL60 are also available with 3h battery life for emergency situations.

Tl50/TL60 in webshopIn addition to the LED fixtures from the TL50 and TL60 series, Glamox offers various conventional fluorescent fixtures that have been sold for several years under the Glamox and Aqua Signal brands. The most famous series of fluorescent fixtures are the 1044 and 1444 from Aqua Signal and the MIR from Glamox. Numerous variants are available for both series, such as short (18W tubes) and long (36W tubes) versions, 50 or 60Hz, built-in battery for emergency lighting, extra cable glands to make looping possible, etc..
These luminaires have been developed and produced according to rules of maritime classification societies, also taking into account additional requirements of VDE and IEC / EN. The housing is available in galvanized steel or stainless steel AISI 316 v. As standard, the housings are powder coated in white RAL 9016 and enamelled to a thickness of 70 - 80 m. Emergency versions, such as the 1444 series, among others, are available with an integrated battery with a battery life of 3 hours.

The 0673 pressure-tight lighting fixtures are mainly intended for outdoor decks. The tube fittings of the type 0673 meet the very high requirement IP68, whereby a fitting is submerged 1m under water for one hour. In practice, these tube fixtures prove their high degree of watertightness compared to more conventional fluorescent fixtures, even with strongly fluctuating ambient temperatures.
The polycarbonate cover tube with a thickness of 4 mm can withstand extreme weather conditions. The mounting of the tube fittings is done with clamps specially developed for this purpose. The 0673 is in fact an improved version of the 0273, in which, among other things, the connection compartment has been enlarged.

Glamox sets the new standard for low operating costs in explosion-proof environments in both the marine and oil and gas industries with the TX60 LED. The TX60 LED is suitable for Ex zone 1 applications. The design is ideal for use in harsh environments, with an impressive temperature range of -50 °C to +55 °C.
Replacement
TX60 LED can be used as a direct replacement for the T8 fluorescent fixture. No new lighting calculations are required for this. Due to the flexible design, mounting can be easily carried out on the basis of common T8 mounting clamps.
Technology
The advanced IC driver technology is class-leading and offers 100,000 burning hours at +45 °C without limiting the life of the system. The luminaire has an impressive temperature range of -50 °C to +55 °C.
The TX60 LED provides a safe and highly visible working environment for the crew thanks to its high-quality color rendering.
The MAX LED is a high-performance, long-life Ex e LED luminaire, specially designed with minimal maintenance in mind. The LEDs are powered by a switch-free driver with an integrated circuit. The fixture has a hinged housing for easy access. The luminaire housing is made of Galfan (Z) or stainless steel (S), with white enamelled epoxy / polyester powder coating. The housing of Galfan (Z) is not suitable for outdoor installation at sea. The diffuser is made of impact-resistant polycarbonate. A variant with an emergency battery is also available from the MAX series. The emergency model comes with an external battery to reduce the temperature of the battery to extend its life in hot areas. Emergency lighting versions are available with a battery life of 1.5 or 3 hours.
In addition, an LED replacement set for MAX is also available. Allows you to upgrade a T8 version to LED. Longer product life, lower consumption and low maintenance are some of the benefits.

To upgrade a 1044 fluorescent fixture or the MIR T8 version to LED, you only need to replace the complete mounting plate, and if it concerns a version with battery, also the battery with connection. All necessary parts are included in the replacement kit. Own, tailor-made replacement sets are available for both the 1044 and MIR fixtures.
To upgrade the MAX T8 version to LED with new certificate, the mounting plate, the cover, the locking clamps and, if it is an emergency version, the battery with connection must be replaced. All necessary parts are included in the replacement kit.

The Norselight DM60 signal lantern meets the requirements and is fully approved according to MED regulations and SOLAS. The 127mm (5”) manual signal light can be used on all ships for ship-to-ship signaling using Morse code. The light is aluminum, lightweight and robust construction and is completely waterproof. If desired, this unit can be used as a spotlight if the signal trigger and lamp switch are both left on. The Norselight DM60 Signaling Lantern is approved by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA.)
Light reduction and colored filters provide controlled light output as required. Tubular and V-visors are supplied as standard. DM60 has a handle mounted switch to operate the lantern. Signals are created by activating the tubular shutter system, which interrupts the light from the reflector.
