After smoke detectors, heat detectors are the most common type of detectors that are used in a fire alarm system.

In addition to the current Salwico heat detectors (Consilium), we also offer heat detectors for existing Eltek Fire & Safety systems (the Delta and Delta Compact systems) and Servoteknikk (the ServoFighter and ServoMaster systems). Two or more threshold temperatures are available for most heat detectors, depending on the detector's application. For example, a detector in a bathroom where the temperature may rise temporarily during a shower should have a higher threshold value.
In addition to the regular brands of heat detectors, we also offer Orbis heat detectors and Marine Discovery heat detectors for conventional systems. These can only be used in combination with conventional (non-addressable) systems.
In addition to regular smoke and heat detectors, Consilium also offers combination detectors that combine both forms of detection in one detector. The advantage of such a combination detector is that in certain rooms where the cause of a fire could be detected by both smoke and heat, only one type of detector is sufficient.
Combination detectors are also available from the Eltek Fire & Safety brand for existing systems on board.
In those places where there is a significant chance that a fire can develop quickly, flame detectors are used in addition to smoke and heat detectors. This is for example the case over main engines or oil tanks. The flame detector is specifically aimed at detecting erupting flames, and thus offers additional protection as an alternative to the fire alarm system. For some applications, such as the use of a fire alarm system in combination with a local application extinguishing system, heat detectors are also required by class agencies.
