Aqua Signal is nowadays one of the leading brands that is part of the Glamox Group. Aqua Signal was founded in 1868 in Bremen. Originally, the company, founded by Messrs Ahlemann and Schlatter, exclusively made navigation lanterns. In the early years, therefore, no electric light had been invented. Based on this new technology, Messrs Ahlemann and Schlatter quickly developed various lighting fixtures for their customers, the maritime industry. At the end of the 19th century, the company was therefore the market leader in the development and supply of electrical lighting for ships.
Today Aqua Signal is a global brand with a complete range of indoor and outdoor lighting, including navigation lighting, watertight fixtures and other specialized lighting products for maritime applications. Aqua Signal products are robust, of superior quality and can be tailor-made for specific projects.
TTTBV has been an importer for Aqua Signal since 1988. The company was taken over in 1995 by the Norwegian-based company Glamox. Partly on the basis of these and a few other acquisitions, Glamox has grown over the past decades into the market-leading lighting and technical and design lighting supplier for the maritime and offshore industry.
TTTBV developed a range of standard items, the so-called Holland Standard, based on market needs and input. This Holland Standard was developed to be able to supply a selection of standard items from stock, in order to meet the often urgent need for replacement products for on board. The Holland Standard is regularly adapted to developments from the manufacturer, whereby older types of luminaires are replaced by new ones. However, Glamox is strongly aware of the need for availability of old fittings and spare parts, which is related to the long lifespan of ships. For many spare parts and complete fixtures for ships that have been sailing longer, you can always contact us.
