Zenitel Marine has been the global market leader in internal maritime communications for ships and offshore platforms for many decades. Under the brand names Zenitel, Vingtor-Stentofon and Phontech, it offers a wide range of communication systems for on-board use: telephone systems, intercom, Public Address, PA-GA, talk-back, batteryless and cordless telephony, 2-way radio, infotainment and entertainment . Specialist systems are also available, such as the Master Clock System, the Sound Reception System and paging.
Zenitel's maritime communication systems offer high availability, are robust and reliable, scalable, cyber-secure and require minimal maintenance. In addition, Zenitel is strong in integrating multiple systems. For example, wireless systems can be linked to the fixed telephone system, but also to the fire alarm or CCTV system. In 2018, the Zenitel range was expanded with Phontech products through an acquisition. In addition to the Phontech talk-back systems, Phontech's two-wire telephone systems are a valuable extension of the range, as they are very suitable for replacing telephone systems on board existing ships or platforms.
Zenitel is strong in the integration and combination of multiple systems. In addition, independently operating systems are linked to each other, so that the functionality of these systems is broadened. For example, wireless systems, such as walkie-talkies, pagers or cordless telephony, can be coupled to the fixed telephone system. In addition, for example, a link can be made with the fire alarm or the CCTV system. This greatly increases the functionality in some cases. Think of forwarding alarms to wireless devices or broadcasting messages from a wireless device. The combination of PA and GA with the telephone system is often used in practice. Integration is possible in two directions: partly distributing alarm and messages via the speakers of telephones, but also calling groups of speakers from a telephone. This not only improves the functionality of the systems, it also makes cabling simpler and cheaper.
Vingtor-Stentofon systems have been supplied to ships and platforms worldwide since the 1940s. There are now more than 30,000 ships sailing with a system supplied by Zenitel or one of its acquired companies. TTTBV is therefore regularly asked for on-board service, the rapid subsequent delivery of parts or products or the upgrade of an existing communication system.
TTTBV has an extensive in-house stock, on the basis of which not only can spare parts be supplied quickly, but also the need to expand or modernize an existing system in the short term. We also organize the physical exchange of components and central equipment as well as the programming of the software. In such cases, the crew is also carefully advised on what possibilities the modernized system offers and how it can be operated.
History Zenitel
The roots of the company Zenitel go back to 1901, when the company started in telegraphy. From the 1940s the company was active in maritime communication. Several mergers and acquisitions, especially within Scandinavia, eventually led to a market leading position for Zenitel Marine today, with Zenitel and Vingtor-Stentofon as its core brands. Communication is more important than ever today. Zenitel focuses on providing intelligent communication solutions to hear, be heard and understood at all times. From 2021, all new products will be released under the Zenitel brand name.
Vingtor-Stentofon's Public Address System, also known as SPA-V2, is a cost-effective and versatile marine PA system. The system is available in different versions and offers a range of standard and optional functions that meet the requirements of a maritime public address and general alarm system for all types of vessels. The loudspeakers in the call system can be divided into up to 6 different zones (including an all call).
Each SPA rack supports output power from 120W to 2800W. A system can consist of multiple racks to provide the necessary capacity and redundancy.
The SPA system is an integrated, type-approved PA and GA solution. SPA is particularly cost-effective, when SPA loudspeaker loops are used in conjunction with the integrated ACM telephone sets, to cover areas where PA and GA are required on board the vessel. In all cabins on board in particular, the integration of PA and GA with the telephones present in the cabin is a major advantage: not only less hardware is required, but also less cabling, while the devices can be used multifunctionally.
Exigo uses more than 10 years of experience in critical communication via IP. Exigo IP PA offers a system that is flexible, scalable and programmable. Exigo is an IP Public Address system with which other communication systems can be integrated into the PA system. The high level of monitoring and the possibilities for remote operation and maintenance allows your company to centralize operations.
Exigo's amplifiers are advanced amplifiers that use IP technology and a modern Class D design for high efficiency. They are fully monitored and the monitoring status can be read remotely via SNMP and Syslog over IP. The range of available access panels is designed to meet the requirements in multiple use scenarios. Various versions of the control panels are available, including explosion-proof EX versions. They are all fully monitored, like the amplifiers, and will report any disturbances such as microphone problems as soon as they occur.

Telephony and intercom are the basis of the Zenitel range. There are now more than 30,000 ships sailing with a system supplied by Zenitel or one of its acquired companies. Telephony and intercom are the core of the Zenitel range for a reason: even on board these systems form the basis for internal communication between crew members. Zenitel's telephone systems are essentially intercom systems, which have been functionally expanded to be used as a telephone system. Characteristic of the Zenitel telephone and intercom systems is the very high (high fidelity) sound quality, which is achieved by locally amplifying the incoming signal. This fulfills Zenitel's promise: to hear, be heard and understood.
TTTBV has an extensive stock of all telephone systems and intercom systems, on the basis of which not only spare parts can be supplied quickly, but also the wish to expand or modernize an existing system can be met in the short term.
The Vingtor-Stentofon ACM system contributes to the safety of a vessel or platform by providing excellent on-board communication. The Vingtor-Stentofon ACM solutions have three main system variants. These are:
The Vingtor-Stentofon ACM systems provide reliable, robust and proven communication solutions. The ACM systems have been continuously developed and improved to take advantage of new technologies such as IP networks. The various ACM systems are built around the Vingtor-Stentofon AlphaCom XE intercom exchange. The panel offers advanced features such as 1-BIT audio technology (20 kHz audio), IP switching, web services and a wide range of integration options.
AlphaCom XE is a modular platform that supports IP as well as analog telephones and networks. This modularity results in a very broad product range, meeting the needs of all types of ships and platforms. A suitable system solution is available for both a small tugboat and an advanced pipelayer or research vessel with hundreds of people on board.

ICX-500
ICX500 is a further development of the AlphaCom XE which can be used within complete IP systems consisting of Zenitel IP devices and SIP devices. This IP communication server is smaller and more powerful than the Alphacom XE and ready for future developments.
The IC-Edge IP communication system is very simple in design but has extensive possibilities and interesting properties. A system consists only of Zenitel IP stations that communicate with each other using a PoE LAN network. One of the devices functions as an IC-Edge server, so a separate server is not necessary. IC Edge has 1 simultaneous speaking channel, making this system especially suitable for smaller configurations. In the event of a later expansion, it is possible to scale up to the ACM or ICX-500 platform while retaining the same infrastructure and devices.

Emergency telephone in webshopSound reception systems are electronic, acoustic navigational aids that allow the ship's crew to receive audio signals from outside. This also indicates the sound direction on the device. This system is mainly used, even if there is a closed bridge. The sound reception system is installed as an aid to navigation as required by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG), 1972 standards.
Zenitel is widely recognized as one of the leading manufacturers of sound reception systems. Previously, the Vingtor-Stentofon VSS-V2 was offered as a sound reception system. After the acquisition of Phontech by Zenitel in 2018, the VSS-V2 system was replaced by the P-8300 MkII sound reception system. The P-8300 MkII system is designed to receive fog horn sound in the 70-2100 Hz range, while many competing brands only detect sound in the 70-870 Hz range.
Although the regulation for applying sound reception systems only applies to ships with completely closed bridges, these systems are increasingly also being chosen on ships without completely closed bridges.

Zenitel's Masterclock system is the ideal solution for the distribution of both local time and UTC time on board ships. The Masterclock is equipped with various outputs and inputs, so that connections can be made to individual clocks as well as computers and equipment with time indication. In this way, the time between all clocks on board is synchronized and, if necessary, automatically adjusted as soon as a time zone is crossed. The four Slave Clock outputs can be individually programmed for different types of clocks. External radio receivers or time synchronization sources can be connected if higher accuracy is required.
