On behalf of the Amstel, Gooi and Vecht Water Board, Waternet has built a new sewage treatment plant (WWTP) in Weesp. From this sewage treatment plant, the sewage water is purified and discharged to the Amsterdam Rhine Canal. The current WWTP in Weesp has reached the end of its lifespan and will no longer be able to meet the discharge requirements set for this in 2020. The new treatment is extra energy efficient and also takes extra rain into account due to changes in the climate.
To ensure that the cables through have been made watertight for at least 25 years, the RPG bushings from MCT Brattberg have been used here. Due to the fact that this involved newly cast walls and foundations, the CCM150 collapse module was also used here. The collapsing module provides a perfectly round and (temporarily) waterproof lead-through hole for the cables and lead-through.
