In 1999, TTT started supplying fire alarm systems to the Dutch maritime market. Since then, more than a thousand systems have been successfully supplied by TTT, from the brands Servoteknikk (systems: ServoFighter, ServoMaster, BMS 904), Eltek Fire & Gas (systems Delta, Delta Compact and range IQ8Quad detectors) and Consilium (systems: Salwico, CS3000, CS4000, CCP). Since 2012, TTT has focused exclusively on the Consilum systems for gas and fire detection for new buildings. In addition, support and service is still provided with regard to all previously delivered systems from Servoteknikk, Eltek Fire & Gas and Consilium.
Fire detection systems make a very important contribution to safety, especially in a maritime environment. Often these systems can be divided into two types, addressable or conventional.
Addressable systems are characterized by individually addressed detectors, where in conventional systems it is only possible to distinguish between complete loops of detectors. As a result, addressable systems provide a much higher level of safety, as the location of any starting fire can be more accurately determined and many precautions can be automatically initiated at the designated location.
Compared to addressable systems, conventional systems always operate according to a specific communication protocol, sent from the control panel. As a result, addressable fire detection and alarm systems can only function properly when original components are used that can operate and respond to the specific system protocol used. In a conventional fire alarm system, no distinction is made between individual detectors, but between loops with one or more detectors each. It is then usual for these loops to be divided in a logical manner, for example per room or per deck. For example, 5 detectors, necessary for covering the engine room, can be included in one detection loop. If one of the detectors in this loop goes into alarm, the fire panel will recognize that there is an alarm in that loop.
Until about 2012, many thousands of fire alarm systems of the Eltek Fire & Safety brand were supplied to ships and platforms. The most well-known systems from Eltek Fire & Safety were the DELTA and DELTA Compact fire detection systems. The variety of systems offered ranged from a compact conventional five-loop system to addressable systems suitable for medium and large vessels. Eltek fire detection systems were supplied on board any type of vessel, dredger, ferry, tugboat, offshore supply vessel, cargo vessel, river cruiser or tanker, most of which are still in active operation.
Theunissen Technical Trading BV (TTTBV) has represented the fire detection systems of the Norwegian manufacturer Eltek Fire & Safety for several years and has supplied, commissioned and maintained hundreds of Eltek fire detection and alarm systems. Since the Eltek Fire & Safety brand has been phased out in the maritime market, TTTBV offers fire detection systems from Consilium for all new construction projects. However, for service, repair, spare parts, system adjustments or a complete system upgrade, we are happy to assist you, anytime and anywhere in the world.
In many cases, TTTBV can still supply system components for Eltek fire detection and alarm systems, including complete control panels. Visit our spare parts pages for more information.
For new ships, but also as a replacement for existing systems that need to be replaced, TTT uses Consilium's advanced fire detection systems and gas detection systems. Consilium's CCP platform uses a modularly constructed central unit and highly advanced detectors and detectors. TTT provides a full calculation for your new project or refit, taking into account both the requirements from the general plan and the requirements from specific regulations (Solas, IMO and additional specific requirements of the classification society involved in the project). An optimally effective and cost-efficient fire alarm system or gas detection system is designed on the basis of a careful inventory of risk factors on board the ship or platform.
In addition to professional advice, calculation, project support and fast delivery of products and spare parts, TTT also offers you support with system maintenance, repairs and an upgrade/refit or complete replacement of the existing fire alarm system. Since 1999 we have experience with the supply and technical support of all Eltek Fire & Safety systems. In addition, we also have many years of experience with all fire alarm and gas detection systems from the Norwegian brand Servoteknikk. You can also fall back on our knowledge and experience for older Consilium systems. Consilium also has special solutions available to upgrade existing Servoteknikk systems, whereby a modern Consilium central unit can be used, while all existing detectors and detectors can remain in place. This allows a complete upgrade of the system to be carried out quickly and efficiently, without having to open ceilings or make adjustments to the cabling.
In the event of a system failure, we will assess what measures are sufficient to resolve the issue. If replacement of system components is unavoidable, our starting point is always to leave existing system components where possible. Contact the service department for the possibilities and availability of our service technician.
TTT has more than 20 years of experience in the supply, commissioning and technical service and repair of the following systems, among others:
TTT has been working as a distributor of Consilium in the Dutch market for almost 10 years. Naturally, we also provide technical support and on-board repairs for older platforms as well as for current systems. In addition, we also provide technical support, repair and service for all fire detection systems from Servoteknikk and Eltek Fire & Gas that are still in use. Our Service Department can be deployed worldwide and comes on board all types of ships and platforms to maintain or upgrade systems. Well-known Consilium systems, which we regularly repair or maintain, are:
Consilium
Salwico CCP
Salwico Workboat
Salwico Cargo
Salwico CS4000

An optimally effective and cost-efficient fire alarm system or gas detection system is designed on the basis of a careful inventory of risk factors on board the ship or platform.
Fire detection systems and gas detection systems make a very important contribution to safety, especially in a maritime environment. In the first place it is about the safety of people. In addition, an advanced fire alarm system also contributes to the prevention of damage to a ship or platform, including all systems and products on board. It is important here that the fire detection system or the gas detection system signals early whether there is a change in the environment that could indicate an imminent fire or gas explosion.
Consilium's fire alarm systems use detectors that use a combination of advanced detection technology. This greatly reduces the risk of a false alarm, while at the same time signals are given at an early stage about an imminent danger, such as smoke development during a smoldering fire or an increase in the concentration of a gas, such as NOx. Based on a careful inventory of risk factors, in a ship or on a platform, an optimally effective fire alarm system or gas detection system can be designed. This takes into account, among other things, the dimensions of the spaces, the presence of combustible materials or liquids, the presence of ignition mechanisms and fire compartmentalisation. In addition, from the calculation phase of each project, the requirements from the regulations (SOLAS, IMO) and the classification authority, such as DNV, Lloyds, MCA or RINA, are also taken into account.
Consilium offers various ready-made, certified solutions based on the CCP platform. Fire alarm systems that are regularly used in practice are the Salwico Workboat and Salwico Cargo systems.
Salwico Workboat is a system, intended for smaller vessels such as tugs, that uses a very compact sheet steel box in combination with the control panel of the CCP system, Control Panel M 4.3. The Salwico Workboat fire alarm system is available in 4 variants:
In all cases, the Salwico Workboat system is characterized by a compact central cabinet and a very user-friendly control panel, which is equipped with a 4.3 inch color display. Salwico Workboat is provided with various certifications, including a MED approval, and it more than meets all SOLAS requirements.
Salwico Cargo is a fire alarm system for medium and large ships. The Salwico Cargo system is also available with a control panel integrated into the cabinet as well as with a separate control panel. Up to 6 loops with detectors can be connected as standard to the Salwico Cargo system. In this way, a total of more than 1,500 detectors or detectors can be included in the system. The control panel is the same panel as used for the Salwico Workboat system, equipped with a 4.3 inch color display and easy-to-use buttons.
Both Salwico Workboat and Salwico Cargo are based on BUS technology. Several panels can be connected to each other. In this way a link can also be made with the Consilium SMiG Safety Management System, with which the layout and operation of the system can be fully visualized. The systems are also equipped with a USB input to easily retrieve historical data from the system.
Consilium SMiG Safety Management System
The Consilium Safety Management by interactive Graphics system is intended to visualize a fire alarm system or gas detection system. The general plan of the ship or platform is used for this. The detectors and detectors are hereby drawn in the general plan, which can be operated from a (touch-sensitive) screen. As soon as a detector goes into alarm or a detector is activated, the system will not only visualize an alarm, but also immediately zoom in on the exact location, where the report of an imminent fire or gas leak has been signaled. Optionally, a link can also be made with the CCTV system, so that the operator also has a live camera view of the relevant location. With the Consilum SMiG system, the effectiveness of a fire and gas detection system is greatly increased and it is usually possible to react considerably faster and more adequately to a starting fire or a newly started gas leak.
